It is with a great enthusiasm that I discovered Golf Scorer Plus a few months ago. Indeed, Yvon
(note: Houssin) invited me to speak to me about GSP and to wonder my opinion on this tool, which seemed
to him very interesting for our profession. It is the occasion to recall here how much Yvon was with the
listening of all, and this in interest of the corporation PGA of which it had accepted the load of director
general. Yvon never made the things with half, and when it called me, it was not to get rid of the file,
but to consult other opinions that it his, the sign of a sharp and open spirit which characterized it so well.
I belong to the teachers who consider that the statistical follow-up of the players that is an essential
source of information and working tool. The return (oral or writing) of the player on his competitions is
one of the points of the analysis, but the statistics are the only "objective" point for a good
technical analysis. As much among us, I have statistics of my players, on files empirically created
(by means of computer or on paper), I had the occasion to be able to see what existed on gone of the
software, and I always found that well too heavy to keyboard. When I leaned on GSP, I could note that on
the one hand, all that I needed as information was there, and on the other hand, the keyboarding was simple
and fast. Moreover, the fact y of having access on line on the Web allows an unquestionable comfort:
no need to walk with its computer, to fill of papers which would have to be recorded again thereafter,
that makes it possible to be able to have access to the stats our players, therefore not of constraints
of transmission.
When I met the originators, in the possibility to promote this tool with the pros of the PGA by considering
a partnership, I acknowledge to have met qualified and opened people. They showed a level of listening and
a great reactivity with our councils in order to make evolve GSP. I am charmed that PGA France and GSP could
sign this partnership so that our teachers and professional players can profit as well as possible from the
access to this product. I am certain that we will be numerous to assess the qualities of GSP.
